“Experience the best of Sony in a table” – Sony’s tagline for its latest Xperia tablet series.
Sony has finally introduced official videos of the Xperia Tablet Z. Based on these videos, we weren’t far off from the specs we wrote of in our previous post. The Xperia Tablet Z spots the same OmniBalance Design and is thinner than the Xperia Z. It has a 10″ HD Reality Display, powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 on an OptiContrast Panel. It spots the NFC one-touch feature that we’re familiar on the Xperia Z and spots a 8MP Exmor R HD rear sensor and 2MP Exmor R HD front cam. WALKMAN is also on the tablet and has the same ClearAudio+ technology for soul-shaking clarity, which can be experienced on the tablet’s S-Force Surround technology. The Tablet Z is powered by a S4 Pro processor, 1.5Ghz Quadcore with 2GB of RAM. All these features and more, in a water and dust resistance chasis (IP 55/57 rating), at a weight of 500g and only 6.9mm thick!
The Xperia Z has an app called the “Xperia Link”, and we’re very excited to try out the exact features of it when the Tablet Z reaches our hands. Also, it is mentioned in the video that the screen is made up of tampered glass, which leads us to wonder if the tablet uses the same material as the Xperia Z. Possibly dragontrail?
Posted only a few hours, here’s the new TV ad for the Xperia Z. Enjoy!
Thought it’s only stated in the official site that the Xperia Z supports up to a 32GB microSD, we’re here to prove otherwise. We’ve equipped the Xperia Z with a 64GB SanDisk Ultra® microSDXC™ UHS-I card, and it’s been working fine for the past week. Once inserted, the Xperia Z will prompt you to format the microSD. Select “ok”, and you can start storing your media content onto the new card. As seen below, the useable memory is approx 59.45GB. **Please try this at your own risk because Sony is not liable for any damages of your memory card!**
With the launch date of the Xperia Z nearing soon, this is probably not what you will do to your very new phone. But to reinforce the durability of the Xperia Z, do check out how this heck of a phone tough in out in “rough” conditions.
Ever dropped your phone and cracked the screen? Though it’s not 100% crack proof, but this video sure does show just how durable the Xperia Z is!
